I wish to thank you for your unending support and co-operation as well as commend you for your diligence, dedication and sacrifice.
Gentlemen of the Press, my dear Colleagues, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, at this juncture, permit me to release the highlights of the results of 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External as follows:
(i) The number of candidates that registered for the examination is 60,133 with 31,392 (53.04%) male and 28,241 (46.96%) female.
(ii) The number of candidates that sat is 59,124 with 31,316 (52.96%) male and 27,808 (47.03%) female.
(iii) The number of candidates that sat for English Language is 58,012 out of which 44,162, representing 76.13% got Credit and above.
(iv) The number of candidates that sat for Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69% got Credit and above.
(v) The number of Candidates who got five (5) Credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics is 33,914 representing 57.36%.
(vi) Also 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20% got five (5) Credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
(vii) The number of candidates booked for various forms of malpractice is 11,419, as against 4,454 in 2021, which shows a sharp rise in the number of malpractice cases. This is largely due to the improvement in the strategy and technique adopted by the monitoring officers. This led to the blacklisting of four (4) supervisors, one (1) each from Rivers and Plateau States and two (2) from Ogun State for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision.

7.0 Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, at this point, it is my pleasure to declare the 2022 SSCE External results released. Candidates can access their results on the NECO official website www.neco.gov.ng, using their examination registration number.
