Nigerian Defence Academy Opens Admission for 76 Regular Course: The Ultimate Guide 2023

Applications for the 76 Regular Course are now officially open at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). Interested parties may submit an online application between Monday, October 30, 2023, and April 30, 2024. Both male and female Nigerians are eligible to apply for admission.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the NDA 76 Regular Course, candidates must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 25 as at 30 September 2024 (for male candidates) and 22 as at 30 September 2024 (for female candidates).
  • Be unmarried.
  • Be medically fit and of good moral character.
  • Have a minimum of 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects obtained at not more than two sittings in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
  • Have a minimum UTME score of 180 for Arts & Social Sciences and Science while 210 score for Engineering courses.

How to Apply

To apply for admission into the NDA 76 Regular Course, candidates must:

  1. Log on to the NDA application portal at www.ndaapplications.net.
  2. Select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in their details to pay for their application via REMITA after first obtaining their ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code in the sum of N3.500.00 only.
  3. Complete the online application form and submit it together with the scanned SSCE results.
  4. Download the Acknowledgement Form.

Screening Test

Only candidates who meet the admission requirements and have the required UTME score will be eligible to participate in the NDA Screening Test. The screening test will be conducted as phase one of the Post-UTME screening and is tentatively scheduled to hold on Saturday 25 May 2024.

Candidates are to bring along the following items to the screening test center:

  • Acknowledgement Form
  • Screening Test Admission Card
  • JAMB result slip
  • Two (2) postcard size (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs showing only from the chest upwards and containing the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back

Selection Process

Only successful candidates at the NDA Screening Test will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board (phase 2 of the screening test) following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

Duration of Training

Candidates admitted into NDA for Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSC, BEng, BA) and a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
